Lisa Barker (aka Lisa Bruno) holds a BA in Dance from UC-Irvine and a Masters in Dance /Movement Therapy from UCLA.  She was a principal dancer with the Laura Knott Dance Company of Boston and later with Tracey Rhodes Dance Company of San Francisco. In 1995 a concept she created called Mindfulness in Motion was honored in Self Magazine. In Los Angeles, she was a founding member of “Group 5” led by dance improvisation and spoken word master, Simone Forti. In addition to teaching and performing, Lisa draws inspiration from dance intensives with the Twyla Tharp Company and with Ann Carlson Dance. She has studied Sensory Awareness with Charlotte Selver and has taken somatic workshops with Anna Halprin and Tina Stromsted and Continuum with Emilie Conrad. Lisa is fortunate to have had attended multiple meditation retreats with Zen Master, Thich Nhat Hanh.
